Rihanna asked to leave Abu Dhabi mosque over photo shoot

Pop star Rihanna was asked to leave a famous Abu Dhabi mosque complex after posing outside the building for an unauthorised photo shoot.
The singer tweeted pictures of herself in a black jumpsuit and headscarf on photo-sharing site Instagram.
A statement from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, said she was asked to leave after "inappropriate pictures" were taken.
The photos "did not comply with terms and conditions" of organised visits.
Rihanna performed live in the capital of the United Arab Emirates on Saturday.
The mosque said Rihanna, 25, first arrived "at an entrance that was not designated for visitors".
Tourist attraction
"She was confronted by the mosque officials and directed to the appropriate entrance to the mosque, to carry out a visit under the normal conditions."
She was asked to leave after striking a series of poses for the photo shoot.
The statement claimed Rihanna turned up at the mosque "without any previous co-ordination with the administration".
Several of the photos could be construed as suggestive, with one showing the pop star lying on her back in the mosque's courtyard.
The mosque is a major tourist attraction which welcomes non-Muslims - it had more than three million visitors last year.
Rihanna's publicity team has yet to make a comment.

Women are pleasant sights to behold – Sound Sultan

Sound Sultan, born Olarewaju Fasasi, is known for singing about the performances of the government of the day. He is one of the pioneers of Hip-Hop music in Nigeria and co-owns Naija Nijas record label with his brother, Baba Dee. Our Senior Reporter, Anthonia Soyingbe had a chat with him recently. He spoke on different issues close to his heart.
Sound Sultan
Is it true that you are quitting singing to give new artists the chance to grow?
I don’t know where this rumour emanated from but in all sincerity, I am not taking a break from singing. I am still singing and managing artistes on my label.
What has been happening to you since the release of your Dancehall?
Everyone on Naija Nija’s label is working and so I am also working.
Is it true that your latest single, Natural Something was  from your personal experience?
(Laughs) Not at all. It is all about women and I am trying to address my male fans to try as much as they can to take care of women irrespective of their status or class because, women are wonderful and special beings. It is a natural thing for a man to provide for a woman. We should not tamper with that law of nature. A man must spend for his wife, mother, sisters and daughters.

"I Must Marry" - By Charly Boy

Another piece from Charly Boy, Enjoy...
Wanting so badly to get hooked is som
ething many people seem to take far too lightly and for granted these days. Something some of them feel they should do to win acceptance from people and society. These days’ people look at the package and never the content, forgetting that marriage should be a life time commitment of two strangers. In some cases the marriage may workout, like, Charles and Diane, Tunde and Wummie. But most of the time it falls like a park of cards, because as people are rushing to get in, people are rushing to get out, at an alarming rate. Kai!! These days break ups and divorce has become the trend as soon as the honey Moon is over. People use to think that divorce rate is only high amongst celebrities, but now, across board, couples are falling asunder,  going under the pressure of a very bad decision , just because they Must Marry. In these hard times, people are blowing and burning pots of money on very fancy weddings that really don't last after the honey moon. In this age, some parents still pressure their daughters in getting married early. It's like, once your girl crosses the 30yrs bracket, they start to panic, getting anxious and putting pressure on their girl to get married, like it is that easy. She just can't go to the market and buy a husband, or can she? When the poor girl insists on finding her dream man, she is accused of being unserious. Parents please learn to back off joor, it's not by force. After all, are they the ones who will leave with the spouse? There is nothing wrong with waiting for the right person, because if it is the razzmatazz of the wedding things that you enjoy, go ahead and throw yourself a big nonstop party for a whole week. After all, weddings are just one day event, but a marriage is supposed to be a life time thing. I know that weddings are fun, romantic and you can finally tell your girlfriends, boyfriends or your sugar daddy's that you have finally captured your own ‘mugu’. But has this guy been tried and tested? Dating and courting is a different matter from ‘Till Death Do You Part’. Living with one human being for the rest of your life. My sister look the thing well oooo. Bebe, do you have an idea how your guy functions in rough weather? When reality bites, is he calm or does he freak out? Do you share the same interest in some things? Bebe, before you rush into this marriage, it is important to learn where your partner stands on the bigger issues of your life together. Do you have the same values? Sit him down and have a long talk about these and other issues that are of importance to you, you may discover that chances of a long lasting marriage could be slimmer; women are intuitively wired to pick up these things. Are you a learner? For me, I got hooked up with a woman I never saw coming and a woman I will never let go. When I met my wife, she was not even a girlfriend or a lover. I liked her physically, because she had and still have curves that men would die for, but she was never my idea of a wife. She kept hanging around like other beautiful women around me; it was more or less a platonic relationship. All the time I didn't know I was under the microscope of the FBI and the CIA. She was to tell me all this after our marriage. Even though we dated for about 3yrs, in my wildest dream I never saw her coming till one morning after sleeping over, she woke me up, looked me straight into my sleepy eyes and demanded that I marry her in the next few days or she will leave me. Wow! Before then, no one ever threatened me like that, no one ever gave me ultimatums. Who born them? Me CharlyBoy? Little did I know that this woman for years has been doing research on me, this woman has seen me ‘finish’, figured out how to arrest and deal with me. When I was much younger, I had a very violent temper, I was obnoxious. And she had witnessed me a few times in my rage with other women. "Ain't you afraid that I will hurt or harm you" to that she answered, "you can never hurt or harm me because I will never give you a reason to" hummmmmm!!!  Oh! See finish. Bebe, it's easy to know what you are getting into. If in doubt, investigate, set exams for the guy. I believe women are emotionally smarter than men. You must know who you want to marry, it's important for your happiness. You don't deserve scrap especially if you are hardworking, intelligent, progressive and forward looking. Investigate him from all angles, don't be in a rush joor. You don't deserve that heartache because the way marriages are crashing, it's making me catch cold. With the way things are going, very soon we will be throwing divorce parties and inviting friends and well-wishers to celebrate divorce anniversaries. They will choose asoebe, hire a big hall, with Dbanj as the entertainer and Julius Agu as the MC. Even questions like, "when are you getting your divorce" will be the buzz.So if you know you can't handle the pressure, remain single. If the man is still under investigation, please take your time, don't rush. If you know that you are too horny to be faithful, biko remain single and have a ball. If you can't endure bad weather from time to time, stay in your father’s house joor. Never get married out of desperation or because other people are getting married.  If you want a beautiful home, like mine, examine your choice of a life partner, there are a lot of gigolos out there preying on desperate babes like you. But show them say you pass them. No be you?

INSECURITY MATTERS - Cultists Hold ?Security Summit? in Edo State with Police and Government.

BENIN — Against the background of incessant kidnappings and other violent crimes in Edo State, members of various cult groups in the state came together in Benin, weekend, in a move they said was to tackle insecurity in the state.

However, the cult groups during their summit with the theme Interactive Peace Summit: Strategy for Social Cohesion, which held at the Sand Beach Resorts, Benin, expressed dissatisfaction with threats posed to Edo and other neighboring states due to the activities of kidnappers, armed robbery gangs and other criminal activities. They resolved to tackle them.

Represented
Some of the cult groups represented by at the summit included Green Circuit (Maphites), Norsemen (Vikings), Black Axe, Eiye Confraternity, Family Fraternity of Nigeria and Avarian Organisation of Nigeria.

Also in attendance were representatives of Governor Adams Oshiomhole; the Iyase (traditional Prime Minister) of Benin Kingdom, Chief Sam Igbe; representatives of the Edo State Commissioner of Police and that of AIG Zone 5 Benin and representatives of the Director, Department of State Services.

Others were representatives of the Commandant of Civil Defence and Security Corps, Edo State Neighbourhood Watch Council and the OC, SIB, AIG Zone 5.

Chairman of the Consolidated Forum, Donald Edeo-ghon, while acknowledging the damage done by activities of the group, however expressed hope that the coalition of the groups would help in checking crime in the state.

He said: “If you remember, for over two decades, inter-group conflicts, which often resulted in violent and fatal crises, were the attributes of Edo State communities.

“Innocent lives and property of inestimable worth are destroyed on a whim.

“Armed robbery, kidnapping, thuggery and sundry social vices rose to unprecedented levels; it became dangerous to reside and function legitimately in Edo State and in particular, Benin.

“The situation looked bad, but then came the platform of Rainbow Consolidated Forum with a template for all seasons.”

Chief Igbe expressed joy at what he witnessed and called on the groups not to disappoint, saying “you know I am going to brief the Oba on what I have witnessed here today.” "wonderful"

Don Jazy GAve 4 (smart) steps to break into the Nigerian music industry

One way to get noticed in an industry is to position yourself as an authority figure or a thought leader in the space. Starting a blog is a great way to show others what you’re interested in — and it’s a great way to interact with a community of people with common interests. It’s not always easy to follow your dreams, and there are certain industries that pose a greater barrier to entry than others. The music industry is definitely one of those. Whether you have dreams of volunteering your summer at Warped Tour, or you want to represent emerging talent — there are smart steps you can take to enhance your chances of breaking into the competitive music industry before you start talking of the money_.
1. JOIN A STREET TEAM
Street teaming is a great way to get your foot in the door and make some important connections, especially if you don’t have a resume bursting with music-industry experience. As a street team member, you would typically hand out promotional materials such as stickers, posters and CDs to businesses in your market area — including record stores and localshops. When you’re promoting different artists or shows in your local
community, you’re forming relationships with others who are interested in music — you’re networking without realizing it. There is a low barrier to entry with street teaming — most labels or companies just want to find people who are enthusiastic about the work.
If you’re interested in getting involved with festivals,  As you volunteer at more events and establish yourself, you’ll begin to get special opportunities such as working backstage or pre-festival positions. This is a great way to meet music professionals from many different departments, ultimately helping you decide where you want to work in the industry.
Another way to get into street teaming is by contacting your favorite music labels directly and asking if they need someone to pass out promotional materials. This type of grassroots marketing is an easy and fun way to get involved as you start to build your resume.
Lastly, there are third-party companies that often take care of street teaming for artists. The Syndicate is a marketing and consulting agency that offers street marketing to its clients — contact them or a similar company and ask about any upcoming opportunities.
2. NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK
The platitude “It’s not what you know, it’s _who_ you know” perfectly describes the importance of networking in the music industry. When it comes to job openings, the music industry is especially sparse and extremely competitive.
In addition to street teaming, being active on social media is a great way to start networking — especially if you live in a rural area a
nd you don’t have many opportunities to go to shows. On Twitter and Tumblr, Facebook fan page, Reverb Nation, follow people who work in the music industry, and most importantly, _engage_with them. If you’ve got a specific question — ask them. You’d be surprised how many people are willing to pass along advice if you just ask them for it.
One last and important note about networking: Once you’ve established a relationship with someone, it is important to _maintain_ it. It is particularly important to maintain your weak-tie acquaintances — those people you met at that one networking event, or that friend of a friend who does marketing at a record label. Stanford professor Mark Granovetter conducted a study called ”The Strength of Weak Ties” that showed “weak-tie acquaintances were often more important than strong-tie friends because weak ties give us access to social networks where we don’t otherwise belong.” In other words, it’s good to touch base with people in your broader social network every few months — you never know who is going to give you your next big opportunity
3. START A BLOG
One way to get noticed in an industry is to position yourself as an authority figure or a thought leader in the space. Starting a blog is a great way to show others what you’re interested in — and it’s a great way to interact with a community of people with common interests.
“I would tell everybody to start a blog, and even if you’re not doing it to make money or get tons of views, it’s good to have something to show people. Even now, I get people who really want to write for my site and it makes such a difference if I can get a feel for their taste. Then, when you start applying for jobs at labels or marketing agencies, you’ll have something you can show them — you’re not just another person who loves music, you’re willing to put in the work every day.”
4. FIND A MENTOR
Finding someone to tap for advice who already has experience and connections is a great way to gain traction in any industry. Because so
many of your opportunities will come from who you know, aligning yourself with a connected mentor is invaluable. However, it’s not always easy to figure out whom you should ask, and how.
Through street teaming and attending shows you will eventually build your own network, and undoubtedly connect with someone who has experience in the industry. A great way to start is to ask that person to have a cup of coffee with you for an informational interview. Informational interviews are helpful. You simultaneously get to learn from someone else’s experience, as you show them how deep your interest runs and how serious you are.
Pro tip: Always ask to be connected to someone else at the end of the interview. For example, if the person you’re talking with isn’t an expert in client management — ask if that person knows someone you could be introduced to so you can learn more about that area of the industry. In general, people love showing how well-connected they are, and most will help connect you, if you just ask.
Have any other advice about getting started in the music industry? Let us know in the comments.

INTERVIEW: Why We Killed Ironsi And Installed Gowon — Jeremiah Useni

Lt. General Jeremiah Useni needs no introduction. The prominent role he played during the reign of late Head of State, Sani Abacha, as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, is well known. However, there are two things about Jeremiah Useni, who was referred to as ‘Jerry Boy’ at the time. He was indeed a Boy, because he joined the Army at the age of 14. Firstly, he was one of the soldiers who fired shots during the coup against General Ironsi in which the General was killed in Ibadan. Mr. Useni was also the closest person to General Abacha up to his last moments.
This interview, conducted in Hausa by the Hausa language newspaper, Rariya, and translated to English by PREMIUM TIMES’ Sani Tukur, reveals a lot of things many of us didn’t know, including the conspiracies that denied him the opportunity of succeeding Mr. Abacha after he died. Enjoy…
You joined the Army as a fourteen year old, and you were posted to England for a Course at sixteen, how did you feel at the time?
Honestly, it was like a dream to me because I broke my left leg during a game of football, just one year after I joined the Army. As a young footballer, I had very strong shooting ability with my left leg. Anyone who was unfortunate to be hit with my shots really suffered no matter their size. I spent about four months at the hospital In Kaduna. Most of the hospital staffs at the time were Europeans, and they were very efficient. They joked a lot with their patients and they related with you as if you had known them for ages. One day, they decided to come and test all of us and see those who had made progress, so that they would be discharged. When they came to me, they asked; ‘can you stand up?’ And I said, ‘yes’. Then I was asked to stand up and walk. The whiteman said, ‘this one is ok now, he can be discharged’.
Later, they said there would be exams to select those who would go to England, and I had spent four years without studies or anything. However, there was a senior officer who was teaching me, and I went to write the exams, and I passed. I was not even sure we were really going to Europe until one day when they came to the dining room and called out our names, five of us; they asked us to go to a particular building, that our attention was needed there. On getting there, we saw that they had prepared omelet and other kinds of delicacies of the Europeans. At the time, we were used to eating Garri only, we either soak or prepare Eba with one green soup like that. We realised that we might really be going to Europe.  That was how I went as a very young boy, and I thank God for that because before we left Nigeria, they were paying us one naira, in fact, we were first paid seventy kobo, until after one year, when they increased it to one naira.
When I went to England, under the Boys Company battalion, they started paying us four pounds after only two months. I wrote to my father to tell him that we were now receiving four pounds as pay, and I asked him to pay any tax he was asked to pay because I was also enjoying. I told him that just to show him how happy I was.
Many people were afraid of joining the Army at the time you joined. Were your parents alive at the time?
They were alive. It was my father’s friends that did not want me to join. My father was a Royal Guard, and you know a royal guard does not fear anything. He was the most influential official next to the emir, who knows any judge at time? We didn’t even see a policeman until we went to Jos. My father’s friends were advising him not to risk his only son, because I was an only child, but he said since that was what I wanted, I should go ahead, he told them that only God would decide if I live or die.
You had some time with the Sardauna and his Ministers, such as Michael Audu Buba?
We just hear them speak on the radio, or read about them in Newspapers, but I saw Sardauna a lot when I was in Boys Company. He used to visit us, because there was a sugar cane farm, where we used to train, and after such trainings, most of us do get some sugar cane in the farm. Sardauna used to come there and we saw him a lot. I first saw him in 1957.
After your return from England, Sardauna , Tafawa Balewa and others were killed in 1966. Where were you at the time?
I was with 4th Battalion Ibadan. The coup came to us as a surprise, like a thief in the night. We just heard in the morning that Sardauna and the rest were killed. In fact, we did not get the news on time. Where was our C.O Lt. Col. Largema? And Brig. Maimalari and Col Kur Mohammed? We learnt they were all killed. And we asked, what type of coup was that? At the time, we were not concerned with where you came from or what your religion was. As long as you were from the north, we cherish each other so much.
So we organised ourselves and agreed that what happened was very dangerous. We also learnt later that a broad government was being formed. A northerner will be transferred to the South, while a Southerner will be transferred to the north. General Hassan katsina was the governor of the north at the time. People like Kashim Ibrahim were also gone. So those of us, Army officers from the north were very angry really.

Boko Haram linked to group behind Kenya mall attack

Boko Haram linked to group behind Kenya mall attack
A report by a committee of the United States House of Representatives has linked the fundamentalist Islamist sect, Boko Haram, to al Shabaab, the terror group that carried out the September 21 Westgate Mall attack in Nairobi, Kenya.
Al-Shabaab is a Somali-based group whose members are said to be highly proficient in suicide bombing.
The report dated September 13, 2013 and entitled, ‘Boko Haram: Growing Threat to the US Homeland’, also acknowledged the growing relationship between the Nigerian sect and another terror group, the Al Qaeda in the land of the Islamic Maghreb.
The 39-page report noted that “while there is no evidence that al Qaeda’s core in Afghanistan and Pakistan commands Boko Haram’s operations, it is clear from the words of multiple US officials and media reports that Boko Haram is supportive of, and supported by Al Qaeda networks such as AQIM.”
It noted that “it is the unity of ideology and mutual hatred for the West between the Al Qaeda networks that exposes the danger Boko Haram poses to the U.S Homeland.”
The committee described Boko Haram as a “hardened and sophisticated terror network” that required multiple simultenous local and international efforts to enhance the capacity and capability of the the Nigerian Police and the military to curtail its activities.
It said there was an urgent need by the US to designate the sect as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation because it has shown no signs of ending its aggression against the government of Nigeria and the Western world.
The commiteee wrote, “The world is coming to know more about Boko Haram; their intentions, what they’re capable of, and who is supporting them.
“The US Intelligence Community is working to erase the gaps in our understanding of Boko Haram, but it is already evident they are a serious threat to US interests and potentially to the US Homeland.
‘‘Acknowledging this threat publicly by designating Boko Haram an FTO will establish a legal mechanism for prosecuting any supporters within US jurisdictions.
“This is an increasingly important tool given their attempts to market themselves to a wider international audience.
“Boko Haram shows no signs of ending its campaign against the government of Nigeria and the Western world. Two years after their August 2011 bombing of a United Nations facility in Abuja, Nigeria, Boko Haram remains a threat to the international community, and continues to be a developing threat to the US Homeland.”
The report said that Boko Haram had “highly skilled bomb makers who might have received training from experienced militants elsewhere, potentially indicating a stronger relationship between them and AQIM or Al Shabaab.
It said that besides building sophisticated weaponry, it was now possible that Boko Haram had acquired or will acquire SA-7 and SA-24 shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles.
The SA-7 missile is effective up to 1,300 metres, while some newer models reach altitudes of almost four kilometres. Although most aircraft cruise around 9,140 metres, the SA-7 could be used to target aircraft during takeoff and landing.
In the report, the committee warned, “It does not take much imagination to picture the threat these weapons would pose to commercial aviation in Abuja if they fell into Boko Haram hands.”
Out of the 20,000 such weapons in Libya, only 5,000 of them had been secured through a $40m US programme to buy up loose missiles during the fall of the Gadhafi regime. Most are believed to have found their way into countries that share common boundaries with Nigeria.
The committee acknowledged that the Goodluck Jonathan administration had taken some potentially promising steps in its effort to fight Boko Haram.
It said the appointment of Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), a northern Nigerian Muslim, to the position of National Security Adviser on June 23, 2012, demonstrated Jonathan’s willingness to give northerners and Muslims a visible role in Nigeria’s struggle with Boko Haram.
“Dasuki has taken the lead in organising government’s fight against Boko Haram, and his background as a Muslim from the North may give him obvious and potent symbolic significance,” the committee said.
In spite of this, the committee observed that concerns regarding the capability of the Jonathan administration to effectively deal with Boko Haram remained prominent.

Lagos Police Commissioner Sued For N25 Million over Neglect of Taskirat Anjolaiya

The family of a woman, Taskirat Anjolaiya, who was hit by a reckless and negligent police driver and knocked into a comatose state along with her new born baby, has filed a N25 million lawsuit against the police. Inspector General of Police Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Umar Manko are named as defendants in the lawsuit.
The accident occurred three months ago in Lagos as a police driver in an official van drove in the wrong direction on a one-way street.
The lawsuit alleges that the culprit, Corporal Friday Azukah, drove an official police van recklessly, hitting the nursing mother and her baby on June 23, 2013 as they alighted from a commercial vehicle at Church bus stop along the busy Oshodi-Apapa Express road in Lagos.
The accident occurred as Corporal Azukah drove a female friend of his supervisor, Divisional Police Officer Ibrahim Zango of FESTAC police station, to catch a flight for which she was almost late. Eyewitnesses stated that the police driver cut into the one-way lane of the express road to avoid traffic, speeding dangerously until he knocked down the victims.
After the accident, Corporal Azukah had focused on arranging a cab to transport his superior’s mistress to the airport. He later deposited N70, 000 at a hospital so that the victims could be admitted for treatment.
But the victims’ family said they have since incurred costs running into millions of naira both in medical treatment and sundry care for both victims.
Doctors at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital diagnosed Mrs. Taskirat with pelvic fracture as well as severe brain and other internal injuries. Her baby, Ammarah Eletu, reportedly suffered a broken jaw among other serious injuries.
Currently an outpatient at LUTH, the woman also receives ongoing treatment at a psychiatric facility for mental handicaps that developed after the accident.
Two sources familiar with the case told SaharaReporters that the DPO, Ibrahim Zango, whose mistress was being transported to the airport when the culprit hit the victims, was later transferred from the FESTAC station. “His transfer was all a game by the police authorities to make the case fizzle out,” said one source, who is close to the victims’ family.
Another source stated that Sulaiman Bashir-Eletu, the husband and father of the victims, has been experiencing severe psychological agony from coping with the burden of the accident. The source, who disclosed that Mr. Bashir-Eletu is a teacher, added that the man “cannot understand the callousness and neglect of the police in this case. That’s why we persuaded him to take the case to court.”
Apart from the Inspector General of Police and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, the suit also joins Mr. Zango and Mr. Azukah as defendants. In addition to seeking N25 million in general damages, the lawsuit also seeks N1.7 million in specific damages.
The plaintiffs, among them the victims’ husband and father, are also asking the court to declare that Mr. Azukah’s act of driving at high speed against traffic on the day of the accident was illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional.

T.B. Joshua: "I Would Have Halted President Mills' Death If..."

Founder and General Overseer of the Synagogue Church, Prophet T.B. Joshua says in an unusual manner, God did not reveal the death of Ghana’s President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, which occurred on Tuesday in Accra.
The renowned cleric in a mournful mood affirmed he would have intensified prayers to avert the sudden departure of the late President if he had received any revelation from God.
The Ghanaian President was like a spiritual son to me so I could pray to God to avert the death, if I had received any revelation from him,” Prophet T.B. reportedly told reporters in Legos, Nigeria when ommenting on the death of President Mills.
On that score, he revealed President Mills and other senior government officials had visited his temple thrice this year to receive special prayers, but God never revealed his death to him in all the three instances.
“Of course, I knew he had been ill for some time now and he had come for special prayers concerning his health thrice this year, and I and my other ministers had prayed fervently for him. I was so hopeful he would recover his health completely, but it is sad and only God knows best why he should die now,” he asserted.
Against that backdrop, Prophet TB Joshua expressed profound shock over the death of Prof. Mills and urged Ghanaians to remain calm in this torrid period.
T.B. Joshua added: “Mills was a very committed person in the things of God and also very dedicated. Each time he was in church, you could see the fervor and hunger and thirst for God written all over his countenance. He was a very dear son to me and I was his spiritual godfather.
“I know many persons will be saying how come my fervent prayers did not save his life. All I can answer such persons is, why God allowed Stephen in the New Testament Bible to be stoned to death. Why did God not save the life of Stephen, an innocent man, as he was being stoned, dying?
The answer is simply this: sometimes God allows things to happen for unknown reasons, and indeed reasons no man can explain, that is why God is Almighty Sovereign God; who indeed can question Him, who can challenge God?
“When we humanity eventually see God in the glorious city of Heaven, then, can we have answers to all our questions. For now, he can only get a 99 percent answer but never a 100 per cent answer”.

Damilola Adegbite's Outfit To 'Flower Girl' Movie Premiere

The London Premiere of FLOWER GIRL is today and it's all going down at the Odeon Cinema in Greenwich London.
There are several words that correctly describe Damilola Adegbite and ‘visibly boring’ does not fall into the list of such words. For this gorgeous actress, acting comes as easily as cold comes to winter; naturally!
It therefore doesn’t come as a surprise why she is constantly considered one of the most promising actresses of her generation.
While some are born with that so much talent that acting could be said to flow through their veins, others who do not enjoy this privilege ensure they are passionate about acting and in a way, this makes up for the deficit in their basket of talents.
However, Adegbite happens to be one of those rare actresses who enjoys from both dimensions; she is profoundly passionate about acting and is also immensely gifted in the art of interpreting roles.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bowen University, Iwo, in Osun State.
She was further shot into prominence after she played a lead actress named Telema Duke in a soap opera called ”Tinsel”, MNet’s first multi camera production.
She made her debut in the movie industry, starring in a Ghanaian movie titled ‘6 Hours to Christmas.’ The movie directed by renowned director, Shirley Frimpong-Manso also starred Chris Attoh and many other notable Ghanaian actors.
She played lead and supporting roles in a series of stage performances, including ‘The Vagina Monologues,’ which dwelled on gender inequality as well as addressed sensitive issues such as female genital mutilation and wife battery.

Wentworth Miller Comes Out as Gay, Refuses Invitation to Russian Film Festival

Wentworth Miller took a stand -- and a big step -- on Wednesday, Aug. 21, when he came out as gay in a letter to the organizers of the St. Petersburg International Film Festival in Russia. Citing the country's headline-making anti-LGBT legislation, the 41-year-old Prison Break star said he could not "in good conscience" attend an event in a place that would promote such discrimination.

"Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes," he wrote in the letter, posted to GLAAD's website. "However, as a gay man, I must decline."

"I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government," he continued. "The situation is in no way acceptable, and I cannot in good conscience participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like myself are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly."
"Perhaps, when and if circumstances improve," he added, "I'll be free to make a different choice. Until then."

"Wentworth's bold show of support sends a powerful message to LGBT Russians, who are facing extreme violence and persecution: you are not alone," GLAAD spokesperson Wilson Cruz said in a statement after the letter was posted. "As people from across the globe continue to speak out against Russia's horrific law, more celebrities and corporations should follow his courageous lead in openly condemning Russia's anti-LGBT law."

How Students Used Big Data To Analyze Crime In San Francisco

As cities go, San Francisco is a safe place to live: Homicides are about half of what they were a few years ago and property crimes are declining. The tourism trade is also up, and tech startups are resurging.
But students at KIPP King High School in San Lorenzo, California, have discovered that the picture is less positive when looked at through the lens of big data.
Working with HANA for Humanity, a groundbreaking program that enables nonprofits to solve problems using publicly available data in the SAP HANA in-memory database platform, the students were able to analyze around 1.5 million crime records from 2003-2012.
They then overlaid additional data sets — locations of liquor stores, whether there was any graffiti in the neighborhood, the presence of police precincts, etc. — from nonprofits and other governmental agencies. Several hundred million data points were crunched, revealing some surprising facts:
  • One block of Bryant Street has had more than 30,000 documented instances of crime in the last 10 years, translating into one incident every three hours.
  • There are 10 liquor stores where a vast majority of crime occurs — within a mere 0.2 mile radius.
  • Crime against property continues to be an ongoing problem; and though violent crime appears to be under control, larceny/theft and vehicular theft account for 27% of the City’s reported crime incidents.
  • Whenever the 49ers or the Giants have a home game, there's a 20% spike in crime. Weekend games result in much larger crime spikes than when games are held on Mondays. Additionally, crime levels vary, depending upon the opposing team and if there is a win for the home team (wins typically generated more crime than a loss or a tie).
Big Data technologies like SAP HANA can have a meaningful impact on society. Knowing which neighborhoods to police at what time of day, determining the optimal route for the police patrol car, ensuring that broken street lamps are promptly fixed and graffiti cleaned up before it begins to fester ... these are small actions that City Hall can take to ensure that San Francisco remains not just an iconic landmark but also a safe place to live for its 800,000 residents.

Facebook Just Launched A New Feature: Here's How To Protect Your Profile From Unwanted Searches

Facebook's Graph Search feature is rolling out to everyone today. The new search tool lets you to search Facebook's huge amount of data to get consolidated results. Mark Zuckerberg stressed Graph Search's privacy awareness at the big reveal months ago. "Every piece of content has its own audience, most content is not public, and you can only search for content that has been shared with you," Zuckerberg said at the time. Despite this reassurance, you still should take some time to look at your Facebook privacy settings to make sure things you share don't inadvertently show up in search.

Facebook's New Graph Search Launches Today — Here's How It Works Today, Facebook is finally launching its new Graph Search feature. The new search tool uses your Facebook connections and interests to come up with relevant results for people, photos, places, and interests. These are generally results for which a regular Web search would come up empty — like "places I visited in 2010" or "photos of my friends taken before 1980" or "restaurants my friends like." (In fact, Facebook struggled with naming its new search feature, fearing that anything with "search" in the name would make people think of a Web search engine like Google.) We've been playing with Graph Search for the past few months and its easy to see why naming the product was so hard. This is not Google Web search—it's something completely different. The interface strongly guides users to doing these kinds of searches, responding with plain-English suggestions for questions. Here's what you can expect to experience with Graph Search starting today.

Business Is Booming For Luxury Automaker Bentley

Bentley global sales were up 9% in the first half of 2013, compared to the first six months of 2012. The luxury automaker has delivered 4,279 cars since January, it announced this morning.
Growth was even stronger in the Americas, its largest region, with a 12% increase in sales.
These most recent numbers are part of a larger trend: Bentley sales have been steadily rising over the past four years.

In a statement, Kevin Rose, Bentley's Board Member for Sales, Marketing, and Aftersales, gave some of the credit to the recent introduction new models, the Continental GT Speed and the Continental GT Speed Convertible.

In February, Bentley officially unveiled the Flying Spur, the fastest and most powerful four-door it has ever produced.
Sales were down 23% in China, a drop Bentley attributed to the fact that the Flying Spur, a "major car for this region," is not yet fully available there.
In an April interview, Bentley COO Christophe Georges said the company's recent success can be credited to its decision to develop new products and keep its dealerships open, even in the midst of the financial crisis.
"Whatever the stress is in your market, you cannot compromise the brand," he said. "We didn’t compromise on customer satisfaction. We didn’t compromise on the brand. We didn’t lose our network, and we invested in new products."

Here's How Prince Alwaleed Spends His '$29.6 Billion' Fortune:the-fabulous-life-of-prince-alwaleed-2013

Prince Alwaleed was born into Saudi royalty.  It's a classic he-said-she-said — except she is Forbes' Senior Editor Kerry Dolan and he is Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, considered to be the richest man in Saudi Arabia and one of the richest people in the world. They're fighting over how much the Saudi Arabian prince is worth. Alwaleed believes the number is a $29.6 billion, while Forbes disagreed and placed him at number 26 on its annual billionaires list with a net worth estimate of $20 billion. Regardless, Alwaleed is still rich beyond belief from his stake in his Kingdom Holding Company, his Saudi real estate investments, shares in Arab media companies, and investments in public and private companies globally, including Twitter.

Prince Alwaleed was born into Saudi royalty.  He is the son of Prince Talal and Mona Al Solh. His maternal grandfather was the     first prime minister of Lebanon and his paternal grandfather, King Abdulaziz, created Saudi Arabia.

He attended a California school for college. It was while attending Menlo College in Atherton, California that he acquired what many believe to be a Western world outlook, making him the go-to Saudi investor for American businessmen.

He got his big break when he invested in a little company called Citicorp. He received a $30,000 gift, a $300,000 loan, and a house from his father after graduating, and slowly began investing. In 1991, when Alwaleed was 36, he made a high-stakes decision to invest in Citicorp, which made him $800 million. By 2005, that had turned into $10 billion.

He's married to the gorgeous Princess Ameerah. Princess Ameerah is Alwaleed's fourth bride (and his only current wife — Alwaleed is a one-wife-at-a-time kind of guy). They've been married for eight years, and she is heavily involved in charity work.

He has met many of the richest and most impressive people on the planet. Alwaleed makes a point of meeting and being seen with the world's royals, politicians, and celebrities. He and his wife were guests at Kate Middleton and Prince William's royal wedding, and he's met the Queen of England, Prince Charles, Nicholas Sarkozy, Queen Rania of Jordan, Michael Jackson, and the former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair, among others.

He owns an estimated $700 million in jewelry. When Forbes' Kerry Dolan visited with the Saudi Prince in 2009
, he reportedly showed her part of his impressive jewelry collection that he claimed neither he nor his wife even used: "The most spectacular set on display was a diamond and emerald necklace with three emeralds the size of sparrow eggs dangling from the center, with earrings and a ring to match. With a combined total of 200 carats, the set is worth $40 million," Dolan wrote.

He sleeps only four hours a night and loves CNBC. The prince follows a bizarre schedule of going to bed at 4 or 5 am, and waking up at 9 am. He then eats one big meal a day at 8 pm which he calls "lunch." The TV is constantly turned to CNBC while Alwaleed is eating or working, and the Saudi royal has even appeared as a guest on his favorite TV channel.

He's a women's rights advocate (sort of). The prince takes pride in the fact that nearly 65 percent of the staff at his palace and his investment company, Kingdom Holding, are women.  But he's been accused of doing it for publicity: For instance, Business Insider's Nicholas Carlson reports his female pilot Hanadi Zakariya Hindi has hardly flown any of Alwaleed's aircraft, and when she was hired, Alwaleed told his aviation staff that she never would.

He bought the third biggest yacht in the world for $500 million.  Alwaleed's old yacht, the New Kingdom 5KR Yacht, was 282 feet long, and appeared in the Bond movie "Never Say Never Again." The boat has a disco, cinema, helipad, pool, guest rooms, and more. But Alwaleed commissioned a new yacht double the size at 557 feet, making it the third biggest yacht in the world. It's expected to be delivered in 2014 and will cost a reported $500 million.

He owns a lot of expensive cars, too. His collection includes a Rolls Royce Phantom, which retails just under $500,000, a $48 million diamond-encrusted Mercedes Benz SL 600, and several other Lamborghinis and Ferraris.

He bought (and then sold) an Airbus 380 plane. It was reportedly tricked out with three floors, a Turkish bath, a "concert hall" with seating for 10, a boardroom with holographic projectors, and a garage for his Rolls Royce. The aircraft cost an estimated $500 million. Alwaleed recently sold the plane to a private buyer for an undisclosed price, with proceeds going toward his investments in Saudi Arabia and the greater Middle East, according to his spokesperson.

But he still owns his Boeing 747.
Alwaleed owns a $220 million Boeing 747 with a throne, two bedrooms, and a 14-seat dining table with 11 flight attendants from around the world.

He lives in a 420-room palace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Alwaleed's palace is made with high-quality marble and hung with large portraits and photographs of himself. It also has two indoor pools and an outdoor tennis court.

He also owns a huge farm/resort on the outskirts of the city. The Farm has over 120 acres, and has a miniature version of the Grand Canyon, a mi
ni-zoo, horse stables, and five artificial lakes.

Alwaleed is a big game hunter. He often goes on hunting expeditions, and shoots game that are typically illegal to hunt. His prized animal is a stuffed zebra that he killed with his daughter. His palace is filled with the taxidermied animals that are put on display for guests to admire.

He hires little people to act like his "court jesters." vBusiness Insider's Nicholas Carlson reports: "Almost every source we spoke to, including Alwaleed's o
fficial spokesperson, confirmed that, like a medieval monarch, Alwaleed keeps in his entourage a group of dancing, laughing, joking dwarfs." The sources continued that even though they were initially shocked, in Saudi culture it would be considered charity since the little people would most likely be out of work and considered "freaks" in the country.

But it's not all about the toys: Alwaleed also donates heavily to charities. It is common for Alwaleed to make donations to petitioners, as well as to numerous charities and causes through the Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation (even if it might just be for publicity). He has given to those affected by the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, as well as to universities like Harvard and Cambridge.  by. Kingsley.......

Ja Rule

Rapper Jeffrey Atkins, also known as Ja Rule, was sentenced to 28 months in prison in July 2011 for failing to file tax returns with the IRS after admitting that he did not file his taxes for five years

Wesley Snipes

Wesley Snipes walked out of a federal prison in April after serving a tax evasion sentence that began in December 2010. He claimed that he was not legally obligated to pay federal taxes, an argument a jury did not buy.

Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage revealed in 2010 that he owed $14 million in back taxes, which he has been working to pay off since. A federal tax lien filed last year said he owed $6.2 million from income in 2007.

Sinbad

Comedian Sinbad racked up a large unpaid tax bill, owing $8 million in 2009 to the IRS for 1998 to 2006 income, according to an IRS court filing in 2012. California officials also reported he owed that state $2 million. After filing for bankruptcy and selling his home, Sinbad used the tax troubles as material for a reality show.

OJ Simpson

While O.J. Simpson has known bigger legal problems, delinquent taxes are on the list. The former football star, who's serving a long prison sentence in Nevada, owed the IRS and state of California hundreds of thousands of dollars for the past decade, according to court documents.

Lil' Kim

Lil' Kim blamed her accountant when her tax troubles arose in 2005. The rapper was still behind in paying the government by more than $1 million in 2012.

Pete Rose

Baseball legend Pete Rose spent five months in prison for tax evasion convictions in 1990, stemming from money made selling autographs and memorabilia. The tax man returned to his door with a $1 million lien for back taxes in 2004.
Willie Nelson cleared his $32 million tax debt to the IRS by selling assets and with profits from an album titled "The IRS Tapes: Who'll Buy My Memories." He discovered in 1990 that his accountants had not fully paid his taxes, a find made tougher by losses from investments in the 1980s.
